TC Woods
If you didn’t look at this link before you should check it out. This is a urban lumber mill. When someone has a tree that they want to get rid of they can bring it to this mill and they will cut and sell it. The great thing about this place is that it is way cheaper to buy lumber there. The board I got for school was $45.00. Anywhere else and I would have paid around $60.00 or $70.00 for it.

Yeah we went to TC Woods yesterday. I found the perfect piece of walnut for my first project at school. The only problem is that I really don’t have a place to store it. It’s great that Kim doesn’t mind.
East Indian Rosewood!!!
So a guy at school has a friend that owns a saw mill in the East Indies. I guess his friend had a surplus of Rosewood and sent him 3 tons of it. So this guy at school is selling it for basically half the price you could get it anywhere else. We went over this morning and picked out some turning blanks and some quarter-sawn boards that are gorgeous. Seriously this type of thing is the reason I am really glad we moved up here.

So we went to St. Kilian’s Cheese Shop today. Amazing. As you walk into the shop you are overcome by the smell of dozens of different cheeses from around the world. I told the lady behind the counter that we were there to be educated and she started pulling out the cheese. She let us try three different varieties, a goat’s milk, a sheep’s milk and a cow’s milk. Seriously I have never tasted cheese like these before. They were all so creamy and full of flavor that all I could do was smile as I tasted. We ended up purchasing each one. The picture above is what we came home with. I need to do a little research because I really want to know how these cheeses are made. When I do I will have to make a post about each one. I think I will go sneak another taste before dinner.
I love the power glove, it’s so bad.
So the wife and I rented The Wizard last night. If you haven’t seen it you should. Ben Savage and Jenny Lewis…need I say more. Yeah I do. It’s all about Nintendo games in the late 80s. Seriously why cant movies be made more like this one anymore.
